Job description:
Responsibilities:

* Develop and run Education programmes and activities to fulfil National Curriculum requirements.
* Liaise with teachers before children arrive at the centre to ensure that presentation material is meaningful and will add value to lessons and learning.
* Develop presentations and programmes for visitor groups from community, business, council and other interest groups that wish to see the site and learn more, and manage room bookings from those groups for conferences, meetings and so on.
* Work with the Education Manager to promote the Education Centre; develop and improve the educational resources and display material for the Centre and assist with work for all partnership councils to help organise campaigns, open days and other events including promotions, assisting when necessary with the events themselves.
* Develop and maintain a comprehensive library.
* Maintain best practice by, for example, leading the work towards the attainment of the Quality Badge for "Learning Outside the Classroom" (LOTC) providers, and liaising with other education centres and environmental education organisations such as Waste Watch.
* Develop and maintain a database of education and training provision evaluations (including feedback from users) and other quality indicators to measure the performance of the Centre; produce statistics for the wider evaluation of the PFI contract management.
* Ensure conference rooms and all equipment are kept in good order and that all equipment is functioning correctly; prepare equipment for education and training sessions and ensure appropriate Education Centre stationery is appropriately stocked.
* From time to time, visit schools and other interested groups to deliver talks or assemblies (this may require some evening work e.g. Talks to Scouts or Guides.)
Salary: 11.5 per hour
