The Housing Demand service has recently undergone significant transformation, which has resulted in the creation of a dynamic service structure. We are now firmly positioned to take a more strategic approach to the supply of good quality housing, reduction of homelessness and to embrace emerging challenges. Within the structure, a new team has been created and we are looking for an experienced Temporary Accommodation Procurement Manager to join us.

In this role you will manage a team responsible for the procurement of property in the private sector which we can use as temporary accommodation for homeless households, as well as to provide stable tenancies in the private sector for households in order to avoid homelessness. Building productive relationships and working closely with landlords and agents throughout London and further afield to enable your team to understand and meet our residents housing needs.

An excellent communicator who is politically astute and has first class interpersonal skills, you will be a strong manager who can lead and coach a team to achieve optimal performance. You will have a sound knowledge of best practise around the procurement and retention of properties, property standards and practise around lettings, and will use this to ensure that Haringey's housing supply complies with legislation and supports our commitment to prevent homelessness wherever possible.

This role will be offered as a full time post. The total number of hours will be 36 hours per week.
