Support Assistant based at a care home



Hours: 08.00-13.00 daily - 4 days one week and 3 days the following week on a 2 week rota.

Enhanced Sheltered housing scheme for residents of 55 years plus. Comprises of 31 flats.



Role Purpose:

Support customers and case managers (Support Worker or Service Coordinator) to deliver excellent customer centred care and support, taking a person centred and positive risk taking approach to enable customers to maintain and improve their independence, effectively manage and improve their personal safety and improve their social, emotional and mental wellbeing

This involves

* Working in partnership with the Service team to deliver the tasks in customers' support/care plans under the supervision of the Service Coordinator
* Contributing to and support/care plan development and review under the lead of the case manager (Support Worker or Service coordinator)
* Developing and fostering positive and enabling relationships with customers to support their emotional, physical and mental wellbeing
* Supporting Service approaches to safeguarding and protecting customers from abuse; reporting any safeguarding concerns to a senior staff member
* Responding to emergent risks including clinical/medical emergencies, referring customers to external agencies as appropriate
* Supporting customers to participate in Genesis improvement and engagement activities
* Fostering people's equality, diversity and rights



DBS: Enhanced DBS issued in the last 12 months to current supplier or on the update service.
Salary: 10 per hour
